Nearly 200 Companies and Facilities Inspected Under Wine Quality Control Measures in the First Seven Months of 2026

As part of quality control measures for alcoholic beverages produced in Georgia, the relevant departments of the National Wine Agency and international auditing companies conducted inspections at nearly 200 companies and facilities during the first seven months of this year. The number of violations has decreased compared with previous years, indicating the effectiveness of the country’s wine quality control system.

To enhance the competitiveness of alcoholic beverages produced in Georgia, National Wine Agency employees regularly monitor the quality of Georgian wine and other alcoholic beverages.

During the first seven months of this year, 181 inspection checks were carried out at 41 companies to determine whether samples of alcoholic beverages submitted for certification corresponded to their respective production lots. Of the 479 samples collected, violations were identified in nine samples from four companies.

As part of state supervision, 15 inspections were conducted at five companies to assess whether their wine production processes complied with the requirements established by Georgian legislation. No violations were identified among the 31 samples collected.

Under domestic market control measures, 79 facilities were inspected. Violations were identified in 63 samples from 43 companies.

At the customs clearance zone, the international auditing companies Bureau Veritas and SGS conducted inspections at 60 companies. Of the 223 samples collected, violations were identified in 11 samples from seven companies.
