Georgia Hosts International Banking and Retail Forum – Fusion Georgia 2026
Tbilisi hosted Fusion Georgia 2026: Banking & Retail, an international forum that brought together more than 300 participants from Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Lithuania.
Organized by international technology company BS/2, the forum was held in Georgia for the first time and became the company's largest event in the country to date. The sixth forum in the Fusion series brought together the banking and retail sectors, with two thematic sessions dedicated to their challenges and technological opportunities. Previous events in the series were held in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The forum was officially opened by Darius Vitkauskas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia. Idrakas Dadašovas, Chairman of the Board of the Penki Kontinentai Group, also addressed the audience with welcoming remarks and took part in the forum’s speaker programme.
“Georgia is one of the region’s most dynamic markets, offering significant opportunities for the adoption of modern technologies in the banking and retail sectors. Fusion Georgia provides a platform for these sectors and technology partners to exchange expertise and strengthen cooperation. Our goal is to adapt international solutions to the needs of Georgian companies and help improve service quality and business efficiency,” said Emilio Kiris, General Director of BS/2 Georgia.
“Basisbank Group is currently at an important stage of development. The integration of Liberty and Basisbank, two financial institutions, gives us the opportunity to strengthen our technological infrastructure, develop digital services, and offer customers an even more convenient banking experience.
“It is important to us that digital and physical banking channels evolve together. That is why we place particular emphasis on modernizing our ATM network, security, and service quality.
“I believe that cooperation with partners such as BS/2 will enable us to deliver even more modern and innovative banking services in Georgia.
“Our goal is for customers to experience the benefits of this integration in their everyday banking through greater accessibility, more advanced technologies, and an improved banking experience,” said Giorgi Koroghlishvili, Head of the Digital Office at Liberty–Basisbank Group.
The event brought together representatives of the banking, fintech, microfinance, retail, e-commerce, and technology sectors, as well as professional associations.
