Large-Scale Presentation of Georgian Wine Held in Germany

With the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, 26 Georgian wine-producing companies participated in one of the world’s largest wine and spirits exhibitions, ProWein Düsseldorf, held in Düsseldorf.

During the three-day exhibition, professional Georgian wine presentations and tastings were organized by the agency’s contracted marketing company ff.k Public Relations. The sessions were led by wine expert Inge Mainzer, wine writer and expert Robert Joseph, and Masters of Wine Konstantin Baum and Janek Schumann. Particular emphasis was placed on qvevri wines. Alongside Georgian wine, Georgian cuisine and gastronomy were also showcased at the exhibition.

“Georgia’s participation in ProWein Düsseldorf is important for increasing awareness of Georgian wine and diversifying export markets. The National Wine Agency continues to support wine-producing companies in participating in international exhibitions, giving them the opportunity to find new importers and meet potential partners.

Numerous seminars and tastings were held during the exhibition, clearly demonstrating the high level of interest in Georgian wine among professionals and consumers,” said Tamta Kvelaidze.

The exhibition was also attended by Rusudan Vardoshvili, Consul of Georgia in Frankfurt am Main. Georgian winemakers also received support from the Embassy of Georgia in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Georgia participated in ProWein Düsseldorf for the 26th time. Over the course of three days, wine professionals, representatives of the commercial sector, and tens of thousands of visitors had the opportunity to taste Georgian wine, which is particularly important for increasing sales.

This year, nearly 2,400 wine companies from 50 countries were represented at the exhibition.

Germany is the largest importer and consumer of wine in Europe. As a result of activities supported by the National Wine Agency of Georgia and consistent collaboration with Georgian wine producers, a growing trend in Georgian wine exports has been established.
