Georgian Wine Showcased at French Gastronomy Festival

Georgian wine was presented at the prestigious French wine and gastronomy festival Les Festives Gourmandes in Chalon-sur-Saône, with the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia.

The presentation was organized by the agency’s contractor, Le Pont Caucasien, as part of Georgia’s broader strategy to diversify export markets and boost global awareness of Georgian wine.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the festival annually attracts up to 10,000 guests, including sommeliers, wine traders, and HoReCa sector representatives. Georgian wines were introduced to attendees by Ilia Kakhoidze, a France-based oenologist and head of Le Pont Caucasien, who presented wines from five Georgian producers.

The National Wine Agency has prioritized international promotion of Georgian wine since 2013, with an emphasis on targeted marketing campaigns in key export markets. France, one of the world’s foremost wine-producing countries, is a particular focus—especially given the growing demand for traditional Georgian qvevri wines.

This appearance at Les Festives Gourmandes marks another step in positioning Georgian wine as a premium and culturally distinctive product in competitive global markets.
