Georgian Wine Roadshow Concludes in Japan’s Capital
The event was led by top sommelier Taku Iguro, who delivered a special seminar on Georgian amber wines. The tasting was conducted in a Walk Around Tasting format, allowing participants to explore a variety of wines.
With the financial support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, Georgian wine tastings and seminars—organized as a Road Show—were held across Japanese cities including Sapporo, Sendai, and Tokyo during April 7–13.
Such events contribute to the promotion and increased awareness of Georgian wine, while also providing Georgian wine producers with a unique opportunity to meet potential partners and wine professionals in one space.
Japan is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. The National Wine Agency has been cooperating with the marketing company Red Bridge since 2017. Its activities include a range of marketing initiatives aimed at increasing the awareness and demand for Georgian wine in the Japanese market.
The Japanese market is characterized by strong demand for high-quality products and a growing interest in authentic and distinctive flavors. In this context, Georgian wine, with its diverse profiles and traditional production methods, holds a strong competitive advantage.
