Georgian Wine Presented in Helsinki During Independence Day Celebration
With the support of the National Wine Agency and the organization of the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Finland, a professional presentation of Georgian wine was held at the historic Finnish House of Nobility in Helsinki, as part of the celebration marking Georgia’s Independence Day.
The wine presentation and tasting, led by Irakli Cholobargia, representative of the National Wine Agency, was attended by industry experts, HoReCa sector representatives, and importers. Cholobargia introduced the guests to the history of Georgian winemaking, the country’s rich varietal diversity, and the unique qvevri winemaking method.
The second part of the event featured a formal reception for members of the Finnish government, diplomatic corps, media, wine professionals, and influencers. Guests enjoyed a Georgian wine tasting accompanied by traditional Georgian folklore and polyphonic music.
As part of its efforts to promote Georgian wine and diversify export markets, the National Wine Agency has implemented numerous marketing initiatives in Scandinavia and Northern Europe in recent years. Notably, large-scale events have been held in Sweden, Denmark, and Iceland, generating growing interest in Georgian wine across the region.
