Georgian Wine Presented at Professional Tasting Event in London
To raise awareness of Georgian wine in the UK and promote export growth, a professional wine tasting event, The Georgian Palate, was held in London. The event was organized by Swirl Wine Group and supported by Georgia’s National Wine Agency.
A wide range of Georgian wines, including different styles and appellations, were showcased at the event, which attracted wine professionals, media representatives, and sales industry experts. The tasting was hosted by Sarah Abbott, Master of Wine and founder of Swirl Wine Group.
The UK has long been identified as a strategic export market for Georgian wine due to its status as one of the world’s largest wine-importing countries. Since 2014, sustained efforts by the National Wine Agency and close collaboration with producers have led to a steady increase in exports to the UK.
To further enhance these efforts, the Swirl Wine Group will officially launch a Georgian wine marketing campaign in the UK in 2025. As part of this initiative, tasting seminars will be held in multiple UK cities, Georgian wine will be showcased at international exhibitions, and targeted advertising and media campaigns will be conducted.
One of the primary objectives of the National Wine Agency is to promote and raise awareness of Georgian wine in global markets. Since 2013, the agency has implemented targeted advertising and marketing campaigns in the Americas, Europe, and Southeast Asia to diversify export destinations.
In the first eight months of 2025 alone, with the agency’s financial and organizational support, Georgian wine was presented at 20 international exhibitions and festivals, and featured in 145 tasting seminars across 14 countries.
