Georgian Wine Featured at Nearly 140 Events Across 18 Countries This Year
With the financial and organisational support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine was showcased at 24 international exhibitions and festivals across 11 countries during the first seven months of this year. The events were held in Germany, China, France, Japan, Italy, Slovenia, Greece, the United States, Austria, the United Kingdom and Belarus.
During the same period, 115 Georgian wine presentations and tastings were held across 11 countries: Germany, Australia, the United States, Türkiye, Norway, France, Belgium, Switzerland, South Korea, Poland and the United Kingdom.
Under the state programme for promoting Georgian wine in the domestic market, the National Wine Agency financially supported 20 events in Georgia, including masterclasses, exhibitions, festivals, competitions and forums.
During the reporting period, 12 wine tours were organised in Georgia for foreign wine professionals and representatives of the trade and media sectors.
To increase the international recognition of Georgian wine and promote the country’s centuries-old winemaking traditions, National Wine Day was established at the initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture’s National Wine Agency and by a decision of the Government of Georgia. It will be celebrated annually on 8 May.
Various marketing activities in Georgian wine’s strategic and priority markets are carried out by companies contracted by the National Wine Agency. The Agency’s strategic markets remain the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, China, South Korea and Japan.
