Georgian Family Wineries Showcase Natural Wines at RAW Wine Tokyo

Five Georgian family wineries presented their wines at RAW Wine Tokyo, one of Japan’s leading exhibitions for natural, organic, and biodynamic wines, held in the Japanese capital.

According to the National Wine Agency of Georgia, Japanese wine professionals and consumers had the opportunity to taste wines from Andrias Wine, Artana Wines, Iora, Manavi Wines, and Gabrieli Wines. Visitors also learned about Georgia’s ancient winemaking traditions and cultural heritage.

RAW Wine, also known as The Artisan Wine Fair, is a globally recognized event curated by renowned French wine expert Isabelle Legeron, a Master of Wine. The exhibition is known for its strict focus on producers who prioritize transparency, sustainability, and minimal intervention in the winemaking process.

The Georgian wineries were also supported by the Embassy of Georgia in Japan, helping to amplify the country's presence at the event.

Japan has been identified as a strategic export market for Georgian wine. With backing from the National Wine Agency, Georgia first launched a large-scale wine promotion campaign in Japan in 2014. Since then, Georgian winemakers have consistently participated in key trade events such as Foodex Japan and Wine & Gourmet Japan, along with holding tastings and wine tours for Japanese professionals and media representatives.

The efforts are yielding results: in the first four months of 2025, Georgia exported over 71,000 liters of wine to Japan, a 21% increase compared to the same period last year.
