Babaneuri Winery Grows Exports with Boutique Production in Kakheti

Babaneuri Winery, located in the village of Babaneuri in Akhmeta Municipality, has become a growing player in Georgia’s wine export scene, producing 8,000 to 10,000 bottles annually and supplying markets in the United States, the United Kingdom, and European Union countries.

Established in 2016, the winery cultivates grapes on 11 hectares of vineyards and employs 5 full-time and 15 seasonal workers. Its wines are produced in a traditional cellar setting, with a focus on high-quality, small-batch production that appeals to international buyers and wine enthusiasts.

With its boutique scale and increasing global footprint, Babaneuri Winery is contributing not only to the reputation of Kakheti's winemaking heritage, but also to the growing popularity of Georgian qvevri and European-style wines abroad.

In addition to its core wine operations, the winery benefits from the region’s appeal to wine tourism, often attracting visitors eager to experience Georgia’s centuries-old winemaking culture firsthand.

As Georgia’s wine industry continues to evolve, Babaneuri Winery stands as a strong example of how small-scale producers can find success through focused production, export diversification, and regional storytelling.
