American Media Representatives Visit Georgia to Promote Georgian Wine

American journalists covering wine visited Georgia on a trip organised by the National Wine Agency and its contracted American marketing company, Glodow Nead Communications.

During the visit, the guests toured 11 Georgian wineries and wine companies in Kartli and Kakheti. They tasted Georgian wines made using both conventional and traditional methods and learned about the country’s centuries-old wine history, culture, and traditions.

The group included Alex Fondren, Vice President of Glodow Nead Communications; Karen MacNeil, editor of the digital newsletter WineSpeed and author of The Wine Bible; Charlene Peters, an Apple News contributor; Stacy Buchanan, founder and publisher of Blood of Gods magazine; and Pete Holland, a sommelier and wine writer.

“This visit is very important for raising awareness of Georgian wine in America. Journalists are particularly interested in experiencing Georgia firsthand, tasting Georgian wine and cuisine, meeting wine producers, and gaining a deeper understanding of the country’s culture and traditions. I think they have already fallen in love with Georgia, its hospitality, and its wine. I am confident they will share their impressions with their readers and audiences in America, inspiring them to visit Georgia themselves and discover the uniqueness of Georgian wine and culture,” said Alex Fondren.

Visits by American wine professionals and media representatives help spread information about Georgian wine and raise its profile. The United States is an important export market for Georgian wine, characterised by strong competition and demanding quality standards.

With the support of the National Wine Agency, numerous marketing activities promoting Georgian wine have been carried out in the American market in recent years, helping increase awareness and strengthen interest among American consumers.
