16 Georgian Wine Producers Showcase at London Wine Fair 2025, Strengthening UK Market Presence
With the support of the National Wine Agency, 16 Georgian wine-producing companies participated in the London Wine Fair 2025, an international exhibition of wine and spirits.
Held annually since 1981, the London Wine Fair is considered one of the most important events in the global wine industry. The prestigious exhibition traditionally attracts thousands of guests from around the world, including wine experts, trade representatives, and media. As such, the London Wine Fair serves as a vital platform for Georgian producers to find new trading partners, promote their products, and boost exports.
As part of the event, Sarah Abbott, Master of Wine and head of the UK-based Swirl Wine Group—a contractor of the National Wine Agency—conducted three guided tasting sessions featuring Georgian wines for wine professionals. In total, wines from 19 Georgian wine companies were showcased during these sessions.
The exhibition was attended by Giorgi Saganelidze, Ambassador of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Georgian entrepreneurs also received active support from the Embassy of Georgia in presenting their wines at the event.
The United Kingdom, a major global importer and consumer of wine, has been designated as a strategic export market for Georgian wine since 2014. Thanks to ongoing cooperation between the National Wine Agency and Georgian producers, Georgian wine exports to the UK have shown consistent growth. In 2024, nearly 426,000 liters of Georgian wine were exported to the UK—a 72% increase compared to 2023.
