Wizz Air won't Resume Regular Flights to Georgia from February
Wizz Air has decided to return to the Georgian market and resume flights, but it is still unknown when regular flights from Kutaisi to various European cities will resume.
"It is true that on February 1, the restrictions on regular flights will be lifted in Georgia, but, unfortunately, there are still a lot of travel regulations in other countries. Therefore, we will not be able to resume flights from the 1st of February. We are doing our best to resume flights soon, but the exact date is still unknown to us, "said Andras Rado, Wizz Air Communications Manager.
Despite negotiations with the Georgian government in 2020, Wizz Air was unable to resume regular flights to Georgia. According to members of the government, the company wanted to launch regular flights from Kutaisi to ten destinations a week, but due to the pandemic, Georgia was not ready to receive a large number of tourists. Now both sides are interested in resuming regular flights as soon as possible.
"Together with the government, we are looking for ways to return to the market. We try to restore functionality as soon as possible and offer Georgian customers to travel to as many destinations as possible, ”said Andras Rado, Wizz Air Communications Manager.
According to Andras Rado, the company has no plans to increase ticket prices and will still offer cheap flights to customers. So far, the safety rules have not changed either.
