Tinatin Zoidze: Batumi Airport will Host More than 300 International Flights in June
According to Tinatin Zoidze, Chairperson of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara, more than 300 international flights will be operated at Batumi Airport in June.
As she said at Bm.ge, the flow of visitors has already been restored by 51% in the same period of the current year compared to the first quarter of 2019.
"We have positive expectations for the season. The dynamics of flow recovery that we have allows us to say this. We also have a good rate at Batumi International Airport, ie 30% compared to the first quarter of 2019.
We are actively working on the restoration of the existing [international flights] destinations, as well as the addition of new destinations. In June we will have more than 300 international flights from 12 destinations. We are also actively positioning the tourism products of our region and country in the target markets.
If we compare the first quarter of 2019 with the first quarter of the coming year, the number of visitors is restored by 51%. This is a positive dynamic. A large contribution to this is made by our private sector, which is actively working in this direction," Tinatin Zoidze said.
For reference, the tourist season in Adjara will open on June 15. In May, the recovery of the sector accelerated and the number of tourists reached 62% of the 2019 level for the first time in the last 2 years.
