Cycling Trails to be Arranged in Mountainous Adjara

Creating tourism infrastructure in Mountainous Adjara, developing and promoting new tourist destinations is the main priority of the Adjara Department of Tourism in 2021.

The Department of Tourism Products Development Agency plans to arrange new picnic zones and tourist shelters on the tourist routes of Mountanious Adjara this year. Work in this direction has already started and new tourist places will be added to the region by summer.

European-level cycling infrastructure and trail climbing up to Khikhani are among the ongoing projects. As a result, this year both amateur cyclists and professional cyclists will be able to enjoy the new bike path in the region.

The Tourism Product Development Agency also plans to study the potential of mountains, forests and tourist villages in Adjara, which will allow the development of new tourism products in the future. It is planned to cut paths and mark new tourist routes on the already identified new tourist destinations.

For reference, last year the Agency for Tourism Products of the Department of Tourism of Adjara provided the marking of three new tourist trails in the region, the arrangement of picnic zones and the necessary infrastructure for canyoning in the Uchkho gorge.
