Agency of Protected Areas is Creating App for Visitors

The Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture is creating an application for protected areas for travelers, which will include the trails in the protected areas of Georgia, with the relevant information. 

Through the app, visitors will be able to pre-determine the route, which will make the trip as easy, flexible and safe as possible. The project will support the development of ecotourism services in rural areas, which will have an impact on improving the socio-economic situation of the population.

The initial results of the application preparation, including the results of the research, content, technical and visual issues, were discussed by representatives of the relevant services of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and the Agency for Protected Areas with representatives of the company "Noxtton".

Work on the application is underway within the framework of the initiative "Improving the management of natural resources in protected areas and increasing services to promote sustainable rural development’’. The initiative is part of the EU-funded Rural Development in Georgia (IRDG) project implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
