Plant Care by Butko - Space for Plant Lovers
Project Butko is a space for plant lovers which unites a variety of services and products. Currently, two services are managed by Butko, Plant Hotel and Plant Care. CBW had an interview with its co-founder, Archil Gogoberidze.
"Our goal is to make it easier for plant lovers to own and take care of their green friends.
The idea of Butko was born when the pandemic started. It was during this period that we started collecting and taking care of ornamental and rare varieties of plants. In the beginning, as it seemed, having ornamental plants and growing them turned out to be not so easy and we faced some difficulties where we needed professional intervention, nor was the relevant information about plants available in Georgia, which would be useful for us.
Market research has shown that there was no perfect service for plant lovers that would facilitate communication with their plants or even taught basic skills that would allow plant owners to properly take care of their plants."
Butko's team consists of 2 people, both of them are co-founders: Archil Gogoberidze and Tamara Razmadze.
"We can boldly say that we both have one thing in common - the love of plants. It was this feeling that helped us to unite and create Butko. We both have different experiences in plant care. Archili is a graduate student in the faculty of Agronomy and Tamara is an experienced gardener who has been actively gaining practical and theoretical knowledge in plant care for several years. Before founding Butko, we both had accumulated other experiences in various fields, therefore these experiences and skills helped us to develop the shape of Butko as a company with its own concept and content.
Butko offers its customers all the services needed to take care of and grow ornamental plants. Their services include Plant Hotel - a space where people are able to leave their plants if they leave the city.
"We also have mobile groups with qualified staff. They go to the address and provide the plant with appropriate assistance. These services include transplanting, soil replacement, enrichment with needed and useful substances, removing pests, etc. customers are also given mini-workshops during a mobile group visit to be able to properly take care of plants in the future."
Butko has organized a Facebook group - Plant Care By Butko - that brings together plant lovers. Members of the group can get free online consultations.
"We have direct communication with our customers through the group and other social networks. Butko team provides them with interesting and informative content and also gives basic and useful care tips which are needed for the proper care of plants. Currently, users can find us on different social networks - Facebook (group, page) Instagram, Tik Tok."
As for the future plans, Butko aims to actively work on the economic empowerment of women.
"We are going to add therapeutic-cognitive workshops and therapy courses in the near future."
