Svaneti to Host First International Film Festival in October
On October 3-7, Mestia will host the first Svaneti International Film Festival, which will become an integral part of world film festivals. The founders of the film festival are director Mariam Khachvani and Teimuraz Chkhvimiani.
SIFF | Svaneti International Film Festival was founded in 2021. First edition will be presented –Short Film Competition, Master classes , Workshops and Special screenings.
Svaneti International Film Festival will host about 60 filmmakers, successful cinematographers and novice directors. In the first year of the festival, an international short film competition will be presented, in which twenty short films will participate.
The members of the jury of the international short film competition are: Chairman of the jury - Paolo Bertolin, selector of the Venice and Locarno International Film Festivals, directors Levan Koguashvili and Ana Urushadze.
The best short film will be awarded the Goddess Dali Prize. The jury will also reveal the films of the best cameraman and best director.
Within the framework of the festival, there will be a presentation of 11 full-length feature film projects and trainings will be held, which will be conducted by producer Vladimer Kacharava.
The winning projects will be awarded cash prizes with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia.
The members of the jury will be directors Rusudan Chkonia and Giorgi Ovashvili.
