ArtUp - Street Gallery Presents Exhibition of BIIMO in Batumi
From November 27, ArtUp - Street Gallery presents the exhibition of anonymous artist BIIMO’s at the Contemporary Art Space, Batumi. In the frame of exhibition, artworks presented in Contemporary Art Space, at the same time will be exhibited on the streets of Vienna in WebAR (web based augmented reality) format.
BIIMO is an anonymous Georgian multimedia artist aimed to critically analyze events and get the people out of their comfort zone. His works are mainly about the issues concerning equality, human freedom, identity and understanding of who we are. In its performances, BIIMO uses a variety of multimedia tools, including sculpture, street art, AR, digital art and music. The latest performance called “PUPPET HOUSE” on the building of Parliament of Georgia was directed to the Government who failed to protect the safety of the journalists and freedom of expression of LGBTQ+ people and did not take appropriate measures to contain the threat of physical violence coming from radical groups.
In October, BIIMOs NFT works as an AR installation were exhibited in New York, hosted by Art Up | Street Gallery.
About the exhibition:
People spend about 60 to 140 minutes a day on social media. We share our feelings, thoughts, ideas, successes or problems with the “Friends” and Followers who we may not even know. We are incapable of realizing to whom we are giving access to our personal information, how they can create our characteristic profile, study our behavior, and influence our choices in different ways. We become the product of systems dictating us how beauty looks like, what is happiness and the ideal world.
Through virtual sculpture, sound, video projection and augmented reality (AR) application, BIIMO will show the visitors of the exhibition how attached we are to the virtual world and various electronic products.
One will need a mobile phone to explore the whole exhibition.
