With New Director General TAV Georgia to Invest $17 million in Batumi Airport Expansion

A new director-general has been appointed at TAV Georgia, the Tbilisi International Airport managing company.

On December 23, Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava met with Alf Ersoi and congratulated him on the new appointment, and wished him a successful performance. At the meeting, the Parties discussed cooperation plans, the pandemic challenges in the aviation field, and their solution mechanisms. The Georgian Economy Minister hailed the close partnership with TAV Georgia and discussed the Batumi International Airport expansion project, where the Turkish operator will invest $17 million. Infrastructural works will be finished in 2021. After the project's completion, Batumi International Airport will handle 1.2 million passengers a year. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Economy Minister Akaki Saghirashvili and TAV Georgia deputy director-general Tea Zakaradze.
