Vazil Hudak: I will Help Georgia Attract International Resources
Despite the heavy period, the pandemic also creates new opportunities, Vazil Hudak, Georgian Prime Minster’s special advisor in FDI issues noted.
“We should grow and we should make progress in various directions. We can attract assistance from the USA, EU, and other countries. We know how to restore the economy through investments. I am a special representative of the European Commission and Council of Europe in developing small and medium enterprises. EUR 50 million has been allocated for implementing this project, which comprises two key aspects – first, digitalization and another one, environment protection direction, overcoming climate change outcomes. Georgia is to digitize the country and make the country more modern and greener. I believe both directions will more harmonize Georgia with Europe and this is the key aspiration of the Georgian Government”, Vazil Hudak said. I have met with the Georgian economic team and explored the current challenges and needs in the country, he said. The Government of Georgia lacks resources to meet the current needs. Therefore, we should mobilize other resources too and the private sector should engage in this process, he added.
“My role is to assist the Government of Georgia to identify the ways and mechanisms for mobilizing additional resources as part of international assistance programs. I believe this objective may be achieved through tight cooperation between public and private sectors”, Vazil Hudak said.
