Road Department to Spend GEL 52 million on Rehabilitation of Zugdidi Streets

Under the Government’s resolution, the Road Department of Georgia started rehabilitating local streets in Zugdidi, namely, Sokhumi, Rustaveli, Aghmashenebeli, and L. Beria streets.

Motorways in Zugdidi are outdated and amortized and the road covers have disappeared, in practice. Driving is impossible, especially in rainy weather.

Therefore, this project calls for fully resolving road infrastructure problems in Zugdidi, arranging sewage channels, curbstones, and sidewalks. On the whole, 47 streets will be rehabilitated in Zugdidi, including central streets such as Rustaveli, Sokhumi, and Aghmashenebeli Streets.

The rehabilitation works will be carried out in stages and will be finished by the end of 2020. The project’s value is GEL 52 million.
