President of Azerbaijan: We Know Many Azerbaijan Companies Wish to Do Business in Georgia

“Our friendly relations count many centuries. This is a good fundament for deepening our relations dynamically in many fields”, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev noted when meeting with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili.

As noted by Ilham Aliyev, Georgia and Azerbaijan have a good history of implementing joint projects.

“I believe this visit will strengthen our relations, based on historical background. Our brethren relations count many centuries and this is a good fundament to deepen our relations in many directions.

We have a good experience of implementing joint projects, including in energy and transport fields. The mentioned projects have changed the entire situation in the region in political, economic, and transport fields. The South Gas Pipeline project is of crucial importance for the Caucasus Regional and its stability, development, predictability, and cooperation. All these achievements would remain impossible without our collaboration”, Ilham Aliyev said and thanked Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili for constant support in implementing the projects.

“We thank the Government of Georgia for uninterrupted support in implementing projects. I believe this line is mainlined in the future too. Azerbaijan still remains the biggest investor in Georgia’s economy thanks to the reforms implemented for creating a positive and friendly investment climate. I know that many Azerbaijani companies wish to do business in Georgia. Today we will analyze the achieved results and plan the future projects”, Ilham Aliyev said.
