Presentation of the Activities of "Society Iveria" Held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture
A presentation of the activities of the non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entity "Society Iveria" was held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. The event was attended by Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili.
The meeting opened with welcoming remarks by the Minister. David Songulashvili spoke about the work of "Society Iveria" and the importance of projects aimed at preserving national values and raising public awareness.
"Society Iveria has implemented numerous important projects for our country. I would like to express my special gratitude to the leadership of the Society and to every individual who has actively contributed to this work over the years. The projects presented today once again demonstrate how important it is to protect, study, and preserve our national values, cultural heritage, and history, and to pass them on to future generations. I am pleased that so many people are involved in this work, and I am confident that the Society will continue to implement many important initiatives in the future," said David Songulashvili.
The presentation was delivered by Giorgi Tavadze, Chairman of "Society Iveria", who introduced the audience to the organization's main areas of activity.
The first large-scale project of "Society Iveria" was the construction of the church dedicated to the Holy Mother of God on Makhata Mountain. As part of the monastery and educational complex, work is also underway to establish a modern scientific research and cultural-educational center-museum.
The meeting featured presentations on completed and ongoing projects implemented by the Society, including initiatives focused on protecting and promoting national heritage, publications on Georgian Christian culture and history, educational programs, and other activities.
The event also featured remarks by film director and patron of "Society Iveria", Merab Kokochashvili.
"Society Iveria" was founded in 2010 with the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II. Its activities include cultural and educational initiatives, support for scholarly publications, promotion of historical heritage, and the advancement of national values.
The meeting held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture was attended by First Deputy Minister Nino Tandilashvili, Deputy Ministers Solomon Pavliashvili, Lasha Avaliani, Lasha Dolidze, Zurab Ezugbaia, and Giorgi Tskrialashvili, as well as other representatives of the Ministry.
