Nino Tandilashvili Elected Chair of the Green Climate Fund’s Ethics and Audit Committee

Nino Tandilashvili, First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, has been elected Chair of the Ethics and Audit Committee of the Green Climate Fund (GCF). She succeeds the representative of France in this position.

The First Deputy Minister thanked her predecessor for the work carried out and expressed gratitude to the members of the Committee for supporting and electing her candidacy.

The Ethics and Audit Committee is a standing body of the Green Climate Fund. Its main responsibilities include overseeing compliance with the Fund’s ethics and conflict-of-interest policies, ensuring financial oversight, monitoring internal audit processes, and preparing relevant recommendations.

The Committee consists of representatives from both developed and developing countries, who also serve as members of the Green Climate Fund Board. Nino Tandilashvili represents the countries of Eastern Europe on the Fund’s Board.

The election of a Georgian representative as Chair of one of the Green Climate Fund’s key committees represents another important step toward strengthening Georgia’s international role and visibility in the global climate change agenda.

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) was established in 2010 under the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It is one of the world’s largest international climate finance mechanisms, supporting projects aimed at climate change mitigation and adaptation in countries around the world.
