Levan Davitashvili: Trade Rurnover Exceeded $1 Billion Between Georgia and Armenia

In recent years, the economic relations between our countries have been particularly active, among them, the trade turnover has increased significantly, and according to the data of the first eleven months of last year, the trade turnover exceeded one billion dollars, we have a 70% increase, - said the Vice Prime Minister, Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Levan Davitashvili said during his visit to Armenia.

According to him, quite significant dynamics are also recorded in the direction of transport, logistics and shipments, where more than 30% of cargo turnover is between countries.

"Tourism flow has also increased between the two countries. We had about 700,000 visitors from the Republic of Armenia to Georgia in 2022. In general, the tourist flow is increasing, and Armenia ranks third among the tourist markets of Georgia. So, many areas of cooperation connect Georgia and Armenia.

We also talked about cooperation in the field of energy, the potential and opportunities that both countries can produce electricity, promote each other's energy independence and security, and also use the new opportunities that Georgia has in connection with Europe in terms of electricity transit and trade. So, this busy agenda creates good prospects for cooperation in the future", said Davitashvili.
