Grape Harvest in Kakheti Begins in Dedoplistskaro Municipality
Around 2,700 tonnes of grapes have been processed across Kakheti so far. Harvesting is progressing in stages throughout the region’s municipalities, depending on grape ripeness and condition.
At this stage, 230 wine companies are registered with the harvest coordination headquarters. This year’s grape harvest is forecast at approximately 320,000 tonnes.
To ensure an organised harvest and enable growers to sell their entire crop, the Georgian government has decided that all grape growers will have access to a buyer in the event of a surplus. For this purpose, Harvest Management Company LLC will purchase grapes grown in Kakheti from individual growers under established conditions.

The price for Saperavi grapes with a sugar content below 17% and/or damage will be GEL 0.30 per kilogram.
