Government Working on Fourth Phase of Economic Support Package

The Georgian government plans to introduce the fourth component of the economic assistance package, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia noted at the November 12 meeting of the Government’s interdepartmental coordination board.

The new phase is being developed together with international partners and the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), Gakharia noted. The new package will reflect the existing social support program’s components with a modernized format, Gakharia explained. “You know that the Government of Georgia has announced a rational distribution of resources, particularly in terms of maintaining job places in the business sector and social support of our citizens.

We have started working on the new assistance package for the social assistance of our citizens and business sector promotion. The program will comprise well-approbated mechanisms, including for citizens who have lost job places, vulnerable families, business companies. We will modernize all these components”, Giorgi Gakharia said. The Government will hold meetings with representatives of specific business sectors so that the business maintains job places and economic growth potential, the Georgian Prime Minister pointed out.
