Government to Implement Internetization Program in 49 Villages of Ozurgeti District
The internetization project will be implemented in 49 villages of Ozurgeti District, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia noted at the Government’s meeting on July 23.
Nationwide internetization is a serious challenge exposed by the recent crisis, Giorgi Gakharia said.
“This project calls for supplying high-quality internet to regions. This is our challenge exposed amid the pandemic. High-quality internet in each Georgian village – this is the challenge that should be resolved. This is just everyday necessity so as farmers work, our children receive education and upgrade living conditions in villages”, Giorgi Gakharia noted.
We inform you that the nationwide internetization project’s first part will be implemented without tender. The corresponding decision was made by LEPL Open Net, a legal body under the Economy Ministry that applied to the State Procurement Agency for implementing 10 million GEL direct procurement contracts.
The internetization project in Georgia started 5 years ago, but its active phase will be launched now. For the project implementation, the Government has established a special legal body Open Net on July 21, 2015, on the basis of Innovation and Technology Agency.
