Government to Allocate 37 million GEL to Land-poor Farmers

The Government of Georgia will allocate 37 million GEL to assist land-poor farmers. On the whole, the assistance will be issued to about 200,000 farmers. The program implementation will start on May 20, 2020.

Namely, farmers with 0.25 to 100 hectares of lands will receive state subsidies to purchase agriculture materials and to cultivate land. The assistance amount per 1 hectare is 200 GEL.

“Farmers can use the money to purchase seeds and plants, agro technical works, fertilizers”, Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili noted.
