Georgia’s Revenues from Hazelnuts Exports Exceed $81 million
The global market demand for Georgian hazelnuts grows. From August 1, 2020, to February 9, 2021, Georgia exported 15.6 thousand tons of hazelnuts, up 50% year on year.
The exports total value marked $81.2 million, up 52% year on year. Key export markets are in Europe, including Germany ranks first with 4,253 tons. Italy is second with 3,823 tons, Czech Republic – 738 tons, Spain – 445 tons, Lithuania 442 tons, France – 381 tons, Poland – 376 tons, Bulgaria – 345 tons, Latvia – 128 tons, Greece – 97 tons, Estonia – 88 tons, Slovakia (86 tons), Luxemburg (84 tons), Belgium (44 tons) and Austria (22 tons).
Georgia also exports hazelnuts to such countries as Armenia (885 tons), Russia (756 tons), Turkey (530 tons), Belarus(466 ტონა), Ukraine (300 tons), brazil (186 tons), Algeria (185 tons), Saudi Arabia (180 tons), Canada (146 tons), Switzerland (111 tons), Mexico (67 tons) and so on.
