Georgian Railway Expects Doubling Figures in 2022

As the Prime Minister of Georgia notes, he is happy with the economic indicators of the Georgian Railway.

According to Irakli Gharibashvili, last year the profit of the railway was 52 million GEL, and this year the company expects this number to at least double.

"The railway has already become profitable. In particular, last year's profit was 52.7 million GEL. This year, the profit of the first quarter is already 23 million GEL. We expect that this year we will see a much higher profit than the previous year. There has been a record growth in rail freight. Last June, the railways saved more than $ 100 million in interest by refinancing $ 500 million in Eurobonds," Gharibashvili said.
