Georgia to Negotiate Free Trade Agreement with UAE

“As the first country in the Region, Georgia will negotiate the free trade agreement with United Arab Emirates (UAE) without special studies, based on the current bilateral trade-economic tendencies. We believe that the free trade agreement will benefit both parties”, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava said after her meeting at the UAE Ministry of Economy.

As the Parties noted at the meeting, the Georgia-UAE trade dynamics keep growing. “We held meetings with representatives of USA major trading network that imports products from Georgia and has a positive experience of cooperation with producers in Georgia. Furthermore, the volume of Georgian products in the UAE trade network grows every year, particularly, the agroindustrial products. We believe that the free trade agreement with UAE will further expand Georgian products exports to UAE market”, Natia Turnava said. Notably, Georgia is the first country in the Region to negotiate a free trade agreement with UAE.
