France Imports 45 Tons of Georgian Honey

Samtredia Municipality's state-sponsored enterprise exports honey to France. According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, 45 tons of honey produced by the company "Apigeo" have already been exported to the French Republic, with another 90 tons on the way.

It should be noted that the company "Apigeo" honey processing enterprise was established with the financial support of the Rural Development Agency, a full investment of 500,000 GEL was made for the establishment of the enterprise, of which 300,000 GEL is a preferential agro-credit. The enterprise employs 12 people.
 
Ilia Tamarashvili, Director of the Rural Development Agency, and Besik Gopodze, Deputy State Representative of the Imereti Region, visited the state-funded enterprise Apigeo in the village of Bashi, Samtredia Municipality, where they got acquainted with the process of preparing honey for sale.
 
"The honey processing infrastructure created with the support of the Rural Development Agency in Samtredia Municipality helps local beekeepers to produce quality honey, which is exported to France. I would also like to mention that within the framework of the preferential agro-credit project, more than 68 million GEL has been issued for the development of primary honey production, where the co-financing of the Rural Development Agency exceeds 12 million, ”said Ilia Tamarashvili, Director of the Rural Development Agency.
