Foreign Investors Hold Georgian State Securities Worth GEL 600 million

Nonresident investors show growing interest in the securities issued by the Georgian Government.

According to TBC Capital, Treasury Bonds and T-notes worth GEL 587.3 million are owned by foreign investors, up GEL 10.2 million as compared to the previous month.

Nonresidents’ interest in Georgian state securities essentially rose at the end of 2019. Namely, in September 2019 they owned state securities of GEL 200 million, while the figure rose to GEL 623 million in February 2020. After the COVID-19 outbreak, investors have sold securities of around GEL 80 million, however, the figure started growing again over the past few months.
