Energy Fund to Build Four Wind Power Stations in Georgia
The Georgian Energy Development Fund (GEDF) plans to build four wind power stations in Georgia. As noted by GEDF director Giorgi Chikovani, the power facilities will be constructed in Zestaponi, Nigoza, and Ruisi.
“Installed generation of all four facilities is 200 megawatts. Feasibility studies are underway for all four projects and construction works will start at the end of 2021. The wind power station will launch power generation in 2022”, Giorgi Chikovani noted. Implementation of these projects was protracted, but not suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As for investors, Giorgi Chikovani has not named them. He only unveiled that both domestic and foreign investors are interested to participate in the mentioned projects.
