Economy Minister: Negotiations are underway with Baltic Countries on Air Traffic Resumption

‘Today I talked with the Transport and Communications Minister of Lithuania and discussed the prospects how quickly we can restore air traffic between our countries”, Economy Minister Natia Turnava noted after her online meeting with Jaroslav Narkevich.

Deputy Economy Ministers Genadi Arveladze and Akaki Saghirashvili have also taken part in the meeting.

‘We are making preparations for opening the tourism season. In practice, we have everyday communication with our colleagues, especially with the countries, from where we expect tourism inflows. It is important that WizzAir airline expressed readiness to resume regular flights between Vilnius and Kutaisi, as well as with two other Baltic countries.

We know that the Baltic Countries have already restored flights with each other and we are conducting negotiations to resume direct flights with all three Baltic Countries. We will do our best to resume direct flights starting July 1”, Economy Minister Natia Turnava noted.
