EBRD Financially Supports Construction of 4 New Power Transmission Lines in Georgia

Georgian State Electrosystem plans to construct 4 new power transmission lines.

Power transmission lines, which will be Lajanuri-Tskaltubo, Namakhvani-Tskaltubo, Namakhvani-Tvishi-Lajanuri, and Lajanuri-Lajanuri HPP will be built with the financial support of the EBRD.

Power lines in Racha and Imereti regions will be built by the Indian company Larsen and Toubro. Construction works will be underway in 2023 and be completed in 2025.

The project is part of the Energy Network Improvement Programme (ENIP), which includes infrastructure projects throughout Georgia, with the construction/expansion of over 500 km of transmission lines and 5 substations.

As it is estimated, ENIP's total investment may amount to 270 million euros.
