Davit Songulashvili: The Government Prioritises Agricultural Development and Support for Small and Medium-Sized Farmers

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Davit Songulashvili, together with Koba Kobaladze, Director of the State Service for Veterans Affairs, and Mustafa Türker Arı, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Georgia, presented agricultural machinery to veteran farmers living in the Imereti region.

The farmers received 20 walk-behind tractors with support from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the State Service for Veterans Affairs.

Songulashvili thanked the Turkish ambassador and TİKA for supporting veteran farmers, noting that such projects are another example of productive cooperation between the two countries.

“Today once again demonstrates that the contributions of our veteran farmers and their service to the country remain a constant focus of our government’s attention and care. The government places particular emphasis on agricultural development and support for farmers, especially small and medium-sized farmers. Access to modern agricultural machinery is a key part of this support. These efforts contribute to the country’s economy and the development of agriculture,” said Davit Songulashvili.

The provision of agricultural machinery aims to support veteran farmers’ agricultural activities and strengthen their capabilities.

The partnership between the State Service for Veterans Affairs and TİKA began in 2017. Since then, numerous important projects for veterans have been implemented with Turkish support, including initiatives in agriculture and healthcare.
