CEO of AGL Attended Renewable Georgia 2022
On the 3rd of June, Rakesh Naik, CEO of Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC/Shuakhevi HPP attended the conference - Renewable Georgia 2022. The CEO of AGL shared with participants of the conference Shuakhevi HPP experience of the relationship with the local community in the process of project development.
,,Shuakhevi HPP is one of Georgia’s most important energy developments. It increases domestic electricity production and decreases the country’s reliance on imported energy. Our vision is to be preferred neighbors by choice to communities we operate in. We are doing our best to establish high standards of corporate social responsibility in the Georgian energy sector.
Since the planning stage of Shuakhevi HPP, AGL was ensuring meaningful engagement with all stakeholders. We had constant communication with local communities, we established information centers that were focused on providing local residents with information, and regular meetings were held in each community and village. At the same time, we offered social projects that helped improvement of living standards in the region and for each resident. I believe that the successful implementation of our project was significantly determined by two factors – we, as an investor ensured the engagement of every stakeholder and the Government of Georgia provided continuous support.
Our support to local residents was not limited to the construction phase only, but on the operation phase too, we do our best to hire locals and at the same time, we continue implementing social projects.’’ – stated Rakesh Naik.
