Cargo Shipment: Georgian Airways is Developing a New Line of Business

Georgian Airways Cargo will perform the first cargo air flight Boeing B737-800 in China. The exact date is still unknown. At this stage, the aircraft is already at Tbilisi International Airport and is undergoing the certification process.

According to Roman Bokeria, General Director of Airzena with Business Partner, Cargo Airlines is actively planning to develop the cargo direction and plans to bring a second boeing.

"This event is historic in the Georgian National Aviation. For the first time in 28 years, Georgian Airways has opened a cargo route. Due to the new demands of the world, the pandemic changed aviation, thus increasing the rate of cargo shipments. We embraced this new reality and began to develop the cargo direction. This is a new page for the Georgian National Aviation, a new chapter in our history. This is the first plane to be followed by the second plane and we fiercly want to develop a cargo direction. In this way, we will help Georgia to be a hub of the region in the direction of Cargo, "Bokeria said.

According to him, negotiations are already underway to bring the second aircraft.

"Given that cargo cargo is in great demand, we want to be able to meet it with our fleet. Accordingly, the first plane will be followed by the second. We are going to enter the market aggressively in this direction and establish a leading position in the region," said the director of Airzena.
