6 Cities to Gradually Receive 175 New Buses

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has purchased 175 buses for 6 cities within the framework of the Urban Transport Development Program. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia reports.

According to them, in order to get acquainted with the mentioned program, the Municipal Development Fund held a meeting with the representatives of the municipalities, where they discussed the details of the program, the stages and terms of bringing the buses.

"Apart from the purchase of buses, the program envisages the development of a new route plan and tariff system for cities. Under the program, training of bus drivers is also planned.

The Urban Transport Development Program envisages the purchase of new, modern standard buses for Kutaisi, Gori, Telavi, Zugdidi, Rustavi and Poti. The procurement is funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the total cost of the program is € 19 million.
 
From October of this year, buses will be gradually transferred to Gori - 30, Zugdidi - 25, Rustavi - 40, Kutaisi - 60, and Telavi and Poti - 10-10, "- reads the release.
