2500 Doses of Covid-19 Medicine Imported to Georgia

2000 doses of Tocilizumab manufactured by Covid-19 Therapeutic "Hetero Biopharma Limited" and 500 doses of Roche monoclonal antibodies (Casirivimab/Imdevimab) were imported in Georgia.

According to the Ministry of Health, the procurement of medicines was carried out by the Ministry of Health within the framework of additional funding of the World Bank "Rapid Response Project against Covid-19".

2000 doses of tocilizumab and 500 doses of Ronapriv will be distributed in stages in medical facilities.

According to the Ministry, "Hetero Biopharma Limited" is one of the leading Indian pharmaceutical companies, which received authorization for emergency use of Tocilizumab at the end of September this year.

Tocilizumab is actively used to treat severe and critically ill patients infected with COVID-19.

The ministry first received Roche monoclonal antibodies as a donation from the German government.

Roche Monoclonal Antibodies (Casirivimab/Imdevimab) have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for emergency treatment of COVID-19-infected patients.
