$150 Million in Land Reclamation - Ministry of Agriculture is Launching a New Project

The Ministry of Agriculture is launching a new project of $150 million in land reclamation - Giorgi Khanishvili exclusively announced this in the "Business Rustavi 2" program.

According to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, the project will help to irrigate and improve areas on the one hand, and on the other hand to cover the value chain, consolidate land and fully resolve land issues.

"In agriculture, business farms occupy 6-7%, the rest are households. This ratio must change dramatically. We need fewer people employed in this sector, creating high value, producing export products at a greater pace. All this is written in the government's strategy," Giorgi Khanishvili notes. .

According to him, if now with exports of more than $1.1 billion, in 2030 this figure should be at least $3 billion.
