Strasbourg to Host Georgian Films Retrospective

Georgia chaired the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in 2019. On this matter, Strasbourg hosts several cultural events, among those is Georgian Films Retrospective.

The initiative belongs to the director of the film theater in Strasbourg - L’Odyssée, . Screenings of Georgian films will be launched in this film theater.

On March 4th, the program of Georgian films will be opened by the film of Otar Ioseliani - Once Upon a Time There Was a Singing Blackbird. The film will be presented by Otar Ioseliani, who went to Strasbourg because of this event.

Soviet-era films will be screened in Strasbourg, such as:

7th March – "The Umbrella", "The Musicians", "The Wedding" by Mikheil Kobakhidze,

8th March - "The White Caravan" by Eldar Shengelaia,

10th March - "Some Interviews on Personal Matters" by Lana Gogoberidze,

15th March -"Line of Credit" by Nutsa Aleksi-Meskhishvili

Partner of the event together with the National Film Theater of Georgia is Strasbourg City Hall and Georgian Film Academy.
