Road Department to Build 13-km Khashuri Bypass Highway in 2020
As part of the Zemo Osiauri-Chumateleti project that is the component of E60 East-West highway, the Road Department is building the Khashuri bypass road.
The 13-km four-lane cement-concrete bypass highway will be finished in 2020. It is noteworthy that the works are being carried out under special recommendations prepared by the Health Ministry, as instructed by the Government’s interdepartmental coordination board.
„At this stage, we have the final stage of laying cement-concrete cover and building bridges. Construction works of all sophisticated sections have been finished.
The Khashuri Bypass Road is the part of Zemo Osiauri-Chumateleti road and after completion of both lots, the road will be extended to Rikoti Pass. The project calls for building 4-lane cement-concrete cover, 21 bridges, 5 tunnels, reinforcement-concrete underground passes, sewage channels and so on, the Road Department’s press release reads.
