Para Alpine Skiing Championship to Hold in Georgia with Support of Socar
Organized by Youth Media Connections and supported by Socar, the para-alpine skiing championship was held in Bakuriani.
It was set up within the framework of the project "Active Life is My Passion". Such an event was held in the region for the second time and it was attended by veterans and soldiers wounded in peacekeeping missions and various military operations. The championship was arranged with the Olympic system and 26 participants from Tbilisi, Gori, Vani, Kutaisi, and Zugdidi competed in it.
At the end of the championship, three individual and three team winners were revealed, who were awarded a solid cash prize from the company Toyota Caucasus.
As for the Challenge Cup, it was delivered to Ruslan Chilashvili for one year. The winners were also awarded medals, certificates, and prizes set by the sponsors of the project.
Supporters of the project "Active Life is My Passion" are the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, Veterans' Cases State Department, Socar, Adjarabet, and Zedazeni.
The company Socar has been supporting this project for three years. More than 500 people with disabilities, wounded soldiers, and veterans participate in the project activities. "Active Life is My Passion" helps them to stay active, increase their motivation, and show their abilities in various sports.
The project "Active Life is My Passion" promotes the implementation of the 30th article of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The project aims to encourage the enactment of the convention on the scale of Georgia and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of the human rights of persons with disabilities.
