New School being Built in the Village Bordering Occupation Zone

A school designed for 150 pupils is under construction in village Mejvriskhevi, in the vicinity of the occupation zone; to this effect, about GEL 2, 400, 000 will be invested from the budget and in autumn pupils will avail themselves of all necessary conditions required for the high-quality educational process. 

Giorgi Gakharia, Prime-Minister of Georgia inspected the progress of construction works together with Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environment and Agriculture and Giorgi Khojevanishvili, Governor of Shida Kartli Region.

Irakli Karseladze, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia provided the Head of Government with detailed information on educational infrastructure construction projects ongoing countrywide. 

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is carrying out 5projects for construction and 5 projects - for the rehabilitation of schools in Shida Kartli Region.  

Projects for construction of 59 new schools and rehabilitation of 100 schools are launched throughout the country. The total cost of the above-mentioned projects is equal to GEL  220 million.

Today, in the territory of the new school under construction in Mejvriskhevi, the Prime-Minister also met and entered into a conversation with the local population.“
