Merab Ninidze Named the Best Male Actor at Asia Pacific Screen Awards
The Asia Pacific Screen Awards Ceremony was held online in Australia this year, where Georgian artists had a successful participation.
Best Male Actor award was given to Merab Ninidze for his leading role in the film Aleksey German (Jr.) House Arrest, - the National Film Center reports.
Levan Tediashvili (film "Fourth Brighton", directed by Levan Koguashvili) was nominated in the same nomination.
During the ceremony, director Dea Kulumbegashvili received a grant from the APSA Academy Film Fund for her upcoming film project Historia.
Merab Ninidze is known for McMafia (2018), Jupiter's Moon (2017) and Repentance (1984).
The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is an international cultural initiative of the Brisbane City Council, Australia, to honour and promote the films, actors, directors, and cultures of the Asia-Pacific region to a global audience and to realise the objectives of UNESCO to promote and preserve the respective cultures through the influential medium of film.
