Georgian Student Wins Golden Medal in European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad

This year, Georgia hosted the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad – EGMO 2021. The digital Olympiad was held at Akaki Tsereteli State University with the participation of 213 representatives from 54 countries.

Ana Onoprishvili, the 12-grade pupil of Tbilisi Physics and Mathematics N199 School, has won the gold medal. The Girls’ National Team of Georgia joined the International Olympiad in 2016 and recorded very good results.

The Georgian Ministry of Education and Science expressed its delight that in 2021 Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University obtained the right to host this important Olympiad. Georgia, as a host country, was represented by two teams at the Olympiad. At the Olympiad, fifteen girls have won golden medals, 23 – silver medals, and 35 – bronze medals.
